I.                CONCEPT PAPERS

 

1.      There are four steps to the Smyth County Community Foundation grant allocation process.  The first step is the submission of a Concept Paper.

 

2.      Concept papers may be submitted throughout the year.  Concept papers received prior to the concept paper review deadline will be reviewed for the next proposal cycle.

 

3.      Concept papers meeting the Smyth County Community Foundation criteria may be submitted to Suzanne Jennings, Executive Director of the Foundation.

 

4.      Concept papers are due by February 10 to be considered for the Spring Grant Cycle and by September 10 to be considered for the Winter Grant Cycle.

 

5.      Concept papers may be submitted at any time.

 

6.      Concept papers will be reviewed semi-annually in February and September.  Potential applicants whose concept papers meet the Foundation’s Guidelines for Giving will be invited to submit a formal proposal.
