Types of Organizations that Qualify for SCCF Grant Money

SMYTH COUNTY COMMUNITY FOUNDATION

APPLICATION GUIDELINES

 

 

1.   Any project/program funded by the Smyth County Community Foundation must be instrumental in helping to improve the quality of life for the citizens of Smyth County and the surrounding Smyth County Community Hospital service area. Health maintenance, education, and disease prevention will be primary factors in considering qualified programs and projects.

 

2.   It is the intent of the Smyth County Community Foundation to fund programs/projects, which will improve access to primary health care and preventive health care.

 

3.   The Smyth County Community Foundation will fund educational programs/projects, which will enable individuals to improve physical health, mental health, and emotional well-being.

 

4.   The Smyth County Community Foundation will fund programs/projects, which champion Initiatives to reduce health risks.

 

5.   The Smyth County Community Foundation may fund local charities.

 

6.   The Smyth County Community Foundation will give special consideration to applications that demonstrate the ability to leverage Foundation funding with public and other financial support.

 

7.   In general, grants will not be made for debt reduction, or existing deficits.

 

8.   Grants will not be made to individuals. It is also not the intent of the Foundation to support civic organizations, social, sports, recreational, religious or general educational programs.

 

9.   The Smyth County Community Foundation will only fund tax-exempt organizations.

 

10.The Smyth County Community Foundation will fund health related programs/projects, which target a clearly defined, under-served population or one not previously served.
